In 2014, the Hong Kong Government began providing support to elderly individuals on waiting lists for care services.
The “Pilot Residential Care Services Scheme in Guangdong” was implemented in June by the Hong Kong Government. Our “Zhaoqing Home for the Elderly” was one of the residential care homes operated by non-governmental organisations of Hong Kong in Guangdong, provides an option for those elders who are on the Central Waiting List for subsidized care and attention places to choose.
The Dementia Wing has been set up in 2006
“Dementia Wing”, which is specially set up dementia-friendly environment for the residents with dementia in our Zhaoqing Home.
The care home has been operational since 2001 and continues to serve the elderly community today
After the full operation of our care home, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust once again provided support to our home, allowing us to build a new guest house. This enables more residents' families to enjoy comfortable rooms in a very convenient location and reasonable cost during visiting their loved ones.
The Opening Ceremony was held in October 2000.
The Opening Ceremony of our Elderly Home was jointly officiated by Mr. John Tsang, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, senior officials from the Zhaoqing Municipal Government, Mr. Lawrence Wong, CEO of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and Mrs. Johanna Arculli, the Chairperson of Executive Committee, Helping Hand.
The Groundbreaking Ceremony was held in April 1999.
The elderly care facility was established in 1998 with approval from the People's Government of Zhaoqing City, the Guangdong Provincial Government, and the Provincial Civil Affairs Department. The Groundbreaking Ceremony was held in April 1999.
